The upcoming Dr. Stone anime series will be getting a third season and a spin-off manga. This is great news for fans!
The science-centered anime is based on a manga written by Riichiro Inagaki and illustrated by Boichi. It was launched in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2017 and has 26 volumes published to date.
Season 3
In a world where every human was turned to stone by a mysterious light, genius boy Senku Ishigami emerges from his petrification into a “Stone World.” With the help of his friends, he sets out to rebuild civilization from the ground up using only the power of chemistry.
During Jump Festa 2022, Shueisha announced that the third season of the Dr. Stone anime will premiere in April 2023. This was followed by the announcement of a spin-off manga series.
The third season will adapt two arcs from the manga, Age of Exploration and Treasure Island. These arcs both cover Chapters 83 to 138 of the original manga.
According to the promo, this season will begin with Senku and his friends heading out into the sea to discover what’s causing the petrification. They’ll also try to find the mastermind behind the petrification. Hopefully, they’ll be able to uncover the mystery of the petrification and how it came to be.
Special Episode
The popular anime series Dr. Stone has been announced for a third season and spin-off manga series. The announcement was made at Shueisha’s Jump Festa ’22 event and will debut next summer with a special episode.
The first season of the anime was released in Summer 2019, with 24 episodes. The second, titled “Stone Wars,” aired in January 2021.
In addition to being one of the most popular animes on Crunchyroll, Dr. Stone is also a bestselling manga in Japan.
The series follows a group of characters who travel the world after a mysterious green flash of light covered the Earth and turned everyone into Stone statues. The story is narrated by Senku Ishigami, a student who wakes up in a new world.
Manga Series
Earlier this Spring, Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine wrapped up Riichiro Inagaki and Boichi’s original manga series about Senku Ishigami and the Kingdom of Science with 232 chapters under its belt. That meant there was plenty of material for a third season of Dr. Stone.
As expected, fans are now clamoring for more! With a special OVA episode and a spin-off manga series announced this summer, the future of the series is looking bright.
However, a disappointing piece of news came earlier this week: the anime’s third season will not debut until 2023. While this makes sense for the show’s schedule, it might sting with fans.
This is due to a new spin-off manga series that will start running in the same Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. The story will be written by Riichiro Inagaki and Boichi, but will focus on a different character: Byakuya Ishigami. This is the first time that both a series and a spin-off will run at the same time in Weekly Shonen Jump.
Release Dates
Anime fans have been awaiting Dr. Stone Season 3 since the conclusion of season 2 of the TMS/8PAN produced anime series. It has a great fan base and is well-loved for its story based on the original manga.
The manga, written by Riichiro Inagaki and illustrated by Boichi, covers the story of a group of people who are petrified into stones by a mysterious light. The group is led by a 15-year-old genius boy named Senku Ishigami.
With his team, Senku travels through technological advancements and tries to uncover the secrets behind the lights that turn humans into stone. Their journey will include plenty of challenges and dangers, but they might be able to solve the mystery in time!
In the meantime, a spin-off manga series is being published in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. This will be the first time that a spin-off manga is being published alongside a main series in this magazine.
