Synopsis
Bayron City is a mega-float type of city in the Pacific Ocean, which doesn’t belong to any particular nation. As the mine for Orgonium, a new energy resource, this city is the most noticed in the world right now, and here special cases caused by demons called “D Hazards” has been occurring frequently. Only a handful of people know about the existence of D Hazards. They are handled by Private Military Companies. Shu is a young man living in Bayron City who runs such a company, but his company is tiny. His life, both publicly and privately, is being supported by the beautiful high school girl Kisara who attends a school in Bayron City.
At the root of Kisara’s strong attachment to Shu is a contract signed between them. Her true identity is a demon. Kisara supports Shu’s lifestyle, and even assists his demon extermination based on their contract. The price is a dangerously sweet kiss. Their uncertain bond teeters between love and contract.
Shuu, a young man who owns and operates a small business in the area, leads a meager life due to his reckless spending. Kisara, a girl who visits Shuu’s office and home because she is constantly concerned about him. She works while attending high school in Veyron City, doing everything from clerical work to housework. Ayano, Shuu’s ex-girlfriend and a senior colleague at the corporation he had previously worked for, is also worried about him.
The anime is set in Baylong City, an artificial island city established, outside of any country’s jurisdiction, in the Pacific Ocean to exploit local natural resources. In particular, the mining of the new energy resource orgonium has resulted in an outbreak of “D disasters” by demons in the city. Private military companies (PMCs) are tasked with dealing with these incidents.
The protagonist Shuu runs a small PMC, though his spending habits have left him constantly penniless. A demon girl named Kisara does contract work at Shuu’s office and is constantly worried for him. Kisara attends a high school in Baylong City, and does everything from clerical work to household chores with confidence. Meanwhile, Ayano is Shuu’s ex-girlfriend, an elite agent, and a former work colleague in a major PMC that Shuu used to work for.
